Assistance from the Heartland Dental Foundation Economic Hardship Fund helped Rachel and Frank by covering 2 months of their mortgage payments. Rachel has been an employee since 2019.
"First I just want to thank Heartland Dental for being the company that every employee in the workforce has dreamed of working for. Although I am not an employee, I am part of the Heartland Family....In June of 2020 I was rear-ended in an automobile accident at a red light. Upon seeking medical treatment I had an MRI done that found a 5cm nodule on my thyroid. Fast forward to this year... they did a biopsy and found a confirmation of thyroid cancer. Unfortunately there was a hiccup with the surgery. What should have been a routine one to three hour surgery caused me to wake up in ICU...My wife was right there by my side throughout it all as she always is. The recovery was rough and we were worried how we were going to be able to afford simple things such as medication, her missing work and how we were going to be able to afford the surgery." - Frank
